Job Overview: We are seeking a talented and experienced Embedded Software Engineer to join our team for an exciting project in Connectivity platform software development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing and debugging embedded software, with a focus on ensuring high-quality, efficient, and reliable solutions. The role involves working with a range of modern technologies and platforms, including C++/Python, Yocto, and Embedded Linux, while adhering to agile methodologies. You will be responsible for software development, unit/component testing, feature prioritization, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Feature Prioritization: Collaborate with the product management and engineering teams to define and prioritize features.
- Software Development: Develop software solutions based on project specifications and requirements, following best practices and coding standards.
- Unit & Component Testing: Conduct thorough testing of software modules to ensure they meet functional and performance requirements.
- Agile Development: Contribute to the software development lifecycle using agile methodologies and practices.
- Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for design, requirements, and software architecture to ensure clarity and consistency across the project.
- Collaborative Development: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, product managers, and other software developers to ensure seamless integration and delivery of the software.
Key Competencies & Skills Required:
- Embedded Software Development: Experience in developing and debugging embedded software for complex systems.
- Programming Languages: Proficiency in C++ (C++17/20) and Python.
- Embedded Linux: Strong familiarity with Embedded Linux environments.
- Yocto: Experience in building and customizing software using Yocto.
- Development Tools: Knowledge of development tools such as Jira (Portfolio plug-in), Artifactory, Jenkins, VS Code, and Clang.
- Protocol Knowledge: Familiarity with Services and Connectivity platform Train architecture and protocols.
- Additional Software Knowledge: Experience with Common API and Open SSL is a plus.
Additional Qualifications:
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to document design decisions and processes.
- Experience with agile methodologies is desirable.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience in embedded software development, particularly in the automotive or connectivity domain.
